A Bamana Maternity, seated on a one legs stool, holding its child close to the abdomen, the elongated pigtails are verifying a high ranking woman like the wife of the “chef de village” or the “warlord”, wearing a cap in the traditional manner of the Bamana women until the early 1920th.
