A Mumuye sculpture, Nigeria, short legs, the conical volume of the hips repeats the shoulder mass, long heavy free-hanging arms, a conical neck supporting a helmet-shaped head featuring a sketchy face, a pointed chin, a small slit-mouth, perforated circular eyes, the ears are represented by two large, cut-out, suspended flaps, the head crowned by a crest-shaped coiffure; a hard wood, traces ritual use, some age-related damage especially on the left side of the sculpture, incl. stand.
