Description
A Dan/Wobe “Chanteur – mask”, Ivory Coast, Liberia, with blackened surface, a protruding mouth, beneath a broard, triangular nose, framed by bulging coffeebean eyes, pierced through, rows of cowrie shells on top, at the base small colourful pearls and numerous brass bells and an attachment ofbraided braids at the bottom; traces of kaolin around the bulging eyes, signs of age and ritual use.
