A female Lobi sculpture of the Kampti region, standing on block shaped feet, strong legs ending in prominent buttocks, accentuated genitals, a protruding abdomen with a large pointed navel, triangular pendant breasts, rounded shoulders leading to arms carved close to the body, the cylindrical neck supporting a globular head, a protruding almost rectangular mouth beneath a triangular nose, pointed cheeks, bulging almond-shaped eyes which are bordered all around, large hemispherical ears with a prominent tragus, wearing a cap-like coiffure; natural patina, remnants of kaolin, traces of age and ritual use. Provenance Oumar Bardo, Gaoua, Burkina Faso.
