A male Lobi figure, Bateba, Burkina Faso, standing on wedge-like feet, the legs forming a zigzag profile on their back side and terminating in an angular buttocks, a columnar torso with protruding navel and pointed chest, sloping shoulders with a long right arm carved close to the body, the left arm is missing, notched back line, supporting on a short neck is an oval head with a heart shaped face, a pointed mouth beneath an elongated triangular nose leading to high arched brows, framed by semicircular eyes, circular ears, wearing a cap-like coiffure; encrusted brown patina, traces of age and ritual use, several cracks.
