Description
A Malinke sculpture, Mali, in seated position, posted on a one leg stool, the slightly curved arms carved close to the body, the abstract hands resting on the knees, the full breasts tapering,, the head helmetlike with a flatten fascial plane beneath a helmetlike coiffure with a domed comb ending at the back in four pigtales; heavy, hard wood, an agecrack on the left arm and left thigh. Purchased from Daba Diarra 2008, Segou, Mali.
